Reef Flux

Reef Flux is a fluconazole aquarium treatment that is effective against certain fungal fish infections. To avoid unintended nutrient spikes, Reef Flux should not be used in tanks with large Bryopsis or Caulerpa refugiums.

Previously known as Algae Buster, Reef Flux is an aquarium fluconazole treatment that is effective against fungal fish infections. To avoid unintended nutrient spikes it should not be used in tanks with Bryopsis or Caulerpa refugiums.

Directions: Turn off skimmer for first 3 days. Activated carbon and phosphate remover can be used after 3 days, but remove other chemical filtration. Empty 1 capsule for every 10 gallons of tank water (20mg per gallon) into high flow area in sump. After 14 days perform a minimum 30% water change. Do not overdose. Filter socks are recommended during treatment in order to help clean the aquarium.

Only for use on ornamental aquariums and fish. Not for human use and not for treating fish intended for human consumption. Keep away from children and animals. In case of accidental overdose, contact a health professional immediately. In case of accidental tank overdose, the medication can be removed using Purigen.

Frequently asked questions:

What is Reef Flux and how does it work?
Reef Flux is a fluconazole-based reef treatment for topical and systemic fungal fish diseases.

Will Reef Flux harm my saltwater fish or invertebrates?
Reef Flux is reef safe for fish and invertebrates as long as it is dosed correctly.

Can Reef Flux affect my nitrates and phosphates?
It is possible that Reef Flux can raise nutrients as it treats your tank, especially if there is a Bryopsis or Caulerpa refugium. This is why it is a good reason to use filter socks while treating fungal fish infections with Reef Flux.

Does this seem like a lot of packaging for 10 capsules?
We received feedback from stores while developing Reef Flux, and many had shoplifting concerns with smaller packaging sizes. Another issue is that for legal reasons there is necessary information on the label that needs to be legible. As a result the packaging size was adjusted to fix any concerns.

Contents: 10 capsules.
Active Ingredient: Fluconazole 200mg per capsule.

Only for use on ornamental aquariums and fish. Not for human use and not for treating fish intended for human consumption. Keep away from children and animals. In case of accidental overdose, contact a health professional immediately.

Works for bryopsis for sure Feb 2, 2018
I don't know about the hair algae but this stuff works on bryopsis. You won't see much change at first, but towards the end of 2 weeks it started dying off and all gone now.
Kills inverts corals Oct 2, 2019
Did help with bropsis.but melted my neon green sinularia and the giant astrea within 2 days.this despite a lower than recommended dose careful folks..
Didnt work Jan 18, 2018
I am having a mild case of brown hair algae and dosed 10 capsules into my 95 gallon tank as per the instructions.
Sadly, 14 days later the algae are still alive and not affected by the treatment.
Best Green Hair Algae (GHA) Remover on the Market Dec 4, 2017
This has to be the best Green Hair Algae (GHA) Remover on the market. Greatest Silver Bullet for Reefing to come in many years.

I was plagued with Green Hair Algae for over well 8 months to a year. I honestly didn't think there was anything that would help except removing by hand daily or weekly. I did find out that GHA grows faster than I can manually remove. plus there was GHA in places I could not get to.

Then I read about Algae Buster / Reef Flux. I opened 10 Capsules, placed in cheese cloth and tied up like a tea bag. That was on a Wednesday, I also turned down my skimmer as directed for 3 days. I was away for the following week and when I returned in week's time, more than half of the algae had disappeared. Just gone! I left The skimmer going and I'm still running the system as normal for close to a month to make sure it actually worked. There is not one speck of GHA anywhere in my tank.. anywhere. Best part is there were no ill effects at all.

Guys, if your plagued with Green Hair Algae, Please get this stuff, NOW. It worked miracles in my tank. You just have to be patient and wait the full 2 weeks and you will be ecstatic with the results.
