Harlequin Shrimp - Hymenocera sp.

The harlequin shrimp is best kept in pairs in low light conditions. These shrimp exclusively eat star fish. They are most commonly kept when there is an outbreak of asterina starfish.

There are two species of harlequin shrimp. Generally, the picta species comes in more often. Occaisionally, the elegan species will come in our shipment. A special request can be made for either one, but may delay shipping time substantially.
