No more crazy shimmer. Nov 23, 2018
I changed over to Radion LEDs after many many years using metal halides, I like them a lot except for the excessive "shimmer" as its called these days. Looked like the lights where shining through window screen blowing in the wind, very distracting for me. These diffusers completely solved that issue and now the glitter lines more resemble those created by metal halides. I disagree that these make the tank look like its lit by T5s, I have yet to see a T5 aquarium with glitter lines like these, T5 is usually just a slight flutter. They did reduce output a little so I increased the white channel a little to compensate. Added expense to already expensive lights is the only reason I gave four stars.
