Q: IS THERE A WAY TO REPLACE THE BULB?
A:  No, the unit is a modular design made to be replaceable as a single unit, making it less wasteful than competitive units that require frequent part replacements.  UV light also wears away plastic housings, so your safety is secure as the housing is replaced with every change.

Q: HOW DO I KNOW WHEN TO CHANGE A BULB?
A: There is a GREEN LED on the control box.   IF the LED is ON =  ALL IS GOOD.  When the LED is OFF = time to change the UV unit.

Q:  HOW LONG DOES THE UNIT LAST IN SERVICE?
A:  In normal use bulbs typically last about 6 to 9 months in constant use.  Some bulbs can last up to a year.  To lengthen the service of your bulb, we suggest the following: once your water is sparkling clear for 7 full days, start using your UV on a limited as needed basis:  use with your light timer, only on weekends, etc.   Always put back in if you see cloudiness or green coming into your water.

Q: THE WATER OUTPUT FROM MY FILTER SEEMS TO BE TOO MIUCH FOR THE UV UNIT – IS IT OK?
A: YES !   Only a small portion of filter water has to go through the UV.  Slow water flow is key to making your UV unit efficient.   Over time, all your water will go through the UV unit, and it may take a few days to totally clean up your aquarium depending upon the type and density of tank contaminants.

Q: ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF WATER IS COMING OUT OF THE UV EXIT TUBE -  IS THE PRODUCT WORKING CORRECTLY?
A: YES !  Slow water flow is key to great UV performance.  IF water rushed out, we would not be killing green water and other contaminants.
