Calcium is one of the most important elements in a marine aquarium because many corals, other invertebrates and the useful red calcareous algae consume calcium to build their skeleton. The ideal value of calcium is about 400 - 450 mg/L. Regularly check the calcium level to prevent irregular growth. A high calcium value also promotes the stability of the water.
