Description
Digital pH & Temperature Probe
Any combination of the range of ReefSense digital probes/sensors can be connected to the ReefControl, providing you with real-time monitoring, logs, and notifications, and can control the onboard DC outlets or the AC sockets of a connected ReefControl Power
The ReefSense pH & Temperature probe can be connected to the ReefControl Lite or Pro controllers, providing real-time monitoring, notifications, and logs. Both the pH and temperature readings can be used individually to automatically control DC equipment, such as solenoids or cooling fans, or AC equipment, such as heaters, when used in combination with ReefControl Power. The automatically temperature-compensated pH sensor features dual ceramic external junctions in its double junction design for increased longevity and is accurate to 0.05pH and precision of 0.01pH. The temperature values are accurate to 0.05 degrees Celsius.
Can be used remotely for instantaneous readings and calibration via BLE
Included with:
ReefControl Lite, Reef Control Pro, ReefControl Pro Deluxe Kit
Digital vs. Analog
The ReefSense range of digital Probes and sensors brings a new dimension to aquarium control by improving reliability, ease of use, flexibility and seamlessly integrate any new probes and sensors added in the future.
The digital probes convert their analog sensor data to their actual readings inside the probe itself, preventing any electromagnetic interference that is common on the cable between analog sensors and their meters. Reef aquarium sumps with many pumps and filters often have a lot of electromagnetic interference, than can affect the readings of analog probes.
The calibration data of the ReefSense probes is stored on the probes themselves so once they are calibrated they can be moved between controllers without the need for re-calibration. Also the probes store their calibration history so the health of probes like pH can be monitored and notify in advance when a probe is reaching its end of life.
The other major benefit is that the ReefSense digital probes and sensors all have a common communication interface with the ReefControl units so that any of the ReefSense probes can be connected to any available port and even allows multiple probes of the same type to be used. Furthermore if new sensor types are developed in the future, they too will be seamlessly integrated.
Remote use via Bluetooth
All the ReefSense Probes can be used remotely from the ReefControl unit, communicating with the ReefBeat App via Bluetooth.
This unique functionality allows you to temporarily remove the probes from your tank and use them for example, at your mixing station to check the Salinity and pH of your newly mixed seawater.
Since the probe calibration data is stored on the probe itself, the remote Bluetooth feature allows you to clean and calibrate probes while standing near a sink, instead of crouching down next to your sump.
Whenever the probes are used remotely the App will show the instantaneous readings or guide you through the calibration process without recording any readings in the logs, so it will not have any affect on any trend analysis you do on your tank.
For remote use the probes can be powered from any USB-C socket such mobiles phones (with USB-C), power banks or chargers via the ReefSense USB-C connector (purchased separately).
