But I thought Reef Frenzy® was so clean it didn't require rinsing?!

That is correct. ALL of the LRS Frenzy foods are pre-rinsed so the end user does not need to rinse our foods before feeding. However, you still need to thaw the food out so why not have a durable, dedicated cup that both thaws and separates the food from the water?

 Many hobbyists like to mix LRS with other frozen foods so this simplifies preparing foods before feeding. The LRS Strainer cup has numerous advantages to using a plain plastic cup, or rinsing by other methods.

For example, when thawing naturally gut-loaded PE Mysis® shrimp the last thing you want to do is run it under tap water at high pressure. This can rupture the delicate exoskeleton and cause all the good nutrients inside the shrimp to be washed down the drain. The LRS cup permits the thawed shrimp to be gently separated from the water by lifting the shrimp and leaving the water behind.

If you prefer to add seaweed or food soaks to your food mix you can easily do so in the cup by lifting the strainer from the water, placing it back inside the drained cup, and adding your vitamins or Selcon® over top of the food with no mess or fuss. Easy prep and easy clean up!

 

The LRS strainer is 100% made in the USA using high grade acrylic. It doubles as a mini-cutting board after you thaw your food so you can empty the water, flip over the base and use a knife to mince up any pieces of food you feel are too large for your smaller fish.
