(02/16/2010) - This rock is great with a lot of assorted sizes and shapes. There has been hardly any die off and it came with a nice population of sponges, snails, and feather duster worms. I've had it for a little over a month and the purple coralline algae that was on one rock is starting to seed a few of the adjacent rocks. Looks great!
(03/23/2009) - i got 100 hundred pounds of base rock 50 pounds of timora live and 50 pounds of fiji and it all looked like base rock full of aptasia and flat worms im still stunned and shocked after reading all the rviews i went for it you guys should tell the truth when writing theme thanks for nothing but a sick tank over three hundred gallons and still empty untill i clean up you guys mess
(03/10/2009) - I ordered 120 pounds of Fiji Cured live rock, not sure of what I would receive from a place that delivers by UPS. I received the 120 pounds and found it carefully and individually wrapped and packed. I found virtually no die off and the rock was ready to use in less than 24 hours.
(01/28/2009) - Was not very impressed with the fiji. I found myself hunting around the holding tank a long time looking for good pieces. Not a lot of life or corraline. Maybe this batch was getting old. See my review on the Timora live rock, it was MUCH better than the fiji. Well worth the extra cost.
(12/09/2008) - Fortunate enough to live near P.A., I get to venture in during 'local hours' and pick out livestock. Read the "What is special about our live rock" section on the previous page; absolutely true. Great color and great variety of shapes/sizes. My pieces looked very much like the picture above... Including the snail! Check out the Timora too; I was originally planning to just do Fiji, but the Timora was just too incredible looking to pass up; I bought about 10 pounds to go on top of the 40 pounds of Fiji. Like I said in my Timora review, you can go to your local pet store and spend $6/pound on some "live" rock where that slight smudge discoloration you see MIGHT be living or you can go with Premium Aquatics and get very *LIVE* live Rock. Rating is acutally a 6!
(12/02/2008) - I live locally only a few minutes from your warehouse, friend told me about your company and said I should check you out, and i'm so glad I did. Great price and excellent rocks and thank you very much for the extra, my new saltwater tank couldn't look any better. Thank you again and you have my business
(11/14/2008) - I live local and called in an order for 30# of live FuJi cured rock. The saleperson, Scott, was knowledgable and advised if I purchased 10 # more, I could get a discount. I do not know who picked it, but it was an excellent choice. I had my grand daughter in the truck asleep and they brought the purchased items straight to my truck! Awesome service, awesome choice!
(10/30/2008) - I've always been skeptical about purchasing live rock off the internet. I like to see the shapes first, so I can have a better idea how to aquascape. You can be assured that the Fiji rock from Premium will not disappoint! I told them exactly what I needed, and the rock I received today is exactly what I expected! The shapes are perfect for aquascaping, and I couldn't be happier. I can tell that in a couple months this rock will be teaming with plant life and coralline algae. I've ordered fiji rock rubble from Premium before, and within a few months it was absolutely covered with lifeforms! Fast shipping too! I received the rock within 24 hours of being shipped.
(08/17/2008) - I was a little skeptical about ordering live rock. I recieved the 45 pound batch of rock two days after ordering and was i surprised. I recieved five varied shapes of purple and red rock with plenty of physical character. Also, i was surprised to find only a hand ful of rubble in the bottom of the box! Great product and quality, thanks premium aquatics!
(08/14/2008) - The second time I'm ordering Fiji. Good shapes, decent coralline coverage, and 3 sizeable pieces and a few smaller ones - from a 30 pound rock order. Also rock seems to be completely clean - no odor except that of clean sea water.
(07/28/2008) - I received 40lbs foully cured figi rock about 4 months ago and was very happy with the shape/color/amount I received.Great looking stuff and the shipping to where I live was ridiculously cheap! Will definately buy rock from them again!
(07/03/2008) - Great rock. Beautiful color. Great shipping. Completly happy. I was concerned that ordering online would net less than desirable rock but all 40lbs we beautiful rocks. Very pleased to have taken the chance. Life long customer from here on in. Cheaper than my local supplier ($7.99 versus $3.99 here) even with 2nd day shipping and better quality. Kudos!!
(03/28/2008) - Customer service is great. Asked for 8 to 10" pieces, & received exactly that. Rocks packed individually, & when received had that fresh ocean smell. Perfect, can't ask for anything better. Thanks.
(03/26/2008) - Very nice big pieces will do well for my needs. LFS will have a tough time keeping up. Thanks!!
(02/14/2008) - Rock arrived overnight, individually packaged beautiful, big pieces covered with all kinds of critters and colors. Very interesting shapes. Could not have hand picked anything better. Extremely happy with PA and a definite lifetime buyer! Thanks so much.
(10/05/2007) - I received my Fiji Cured on time...(2nd day air)and it was just amazing!!!I can't even tell you how much better looking this rock was then any of the LFS, and I have plenty in the Greater Tampa Bay area. Would buy from Premium Aquatics again in a Heart Beat. The rock had tons of purple Coraline and even orange too. Great Stuff.
(08/14/2007) - Thank you Jeremy! I ordered live rock from Sealifeinc, Tampa Bay Saltwater and looked all over San Francisco, and my order of rock from Premium Aquatics was 100x better. I asked for Marshall Island Nano rock, Kaelini and Fiji (all cured) and each piece had lots of wonderful holes, caves, some bivalves attached, green coralline. Breathtaking stuff. I'm so glad I saved the best for last to put on the top 1/2 of my tank.
(06/27/2007) - I have to say that I was skeptical about buying the rock because it is about 1/3 of the price the LFS wanted, and I have heard some bad stories about buying rock online. I am VERY happy with the quality of the rock. I kept waiting for an ammonia spike that never really came. Within a week I had all kinds of life all over the rock. The only problem I have had is I didn't order enough of it. The colors and variation of shape are amazing. I would recommend the Premium Aquatics rock to anyone. They now have a life customer in me.
(05/31/2007) - his is the 2nd tank I have set up with Premium Aquatics Cured Fiji, and I will never get rock from any other cource. This rock is amazing! I ordered 60 pounds and received about 8 pieces of rock of various sizes, all of which is incredibly gorgeous. The coralline grow is outrageous and several pieces have small zoos attached. LOOK NO FURTHER THAN RIGHT HERE.
(05/18/2007) - Ordered 40 lbs, got 4 big pieces, extremely cool shapes, no smell, and I'm in a 2-day ground zone, so shipping was CHEAP - very satisfied - will definitely buy from here again. If you have any doubts, give these guys a call - ask them about the rock they currently have - I was considering Marshall and they suggested that the Fiji was particularly good right then - they were RIGHT.
(03/14/2007) - All of the LFS near me are almost 2x more expensive than Premium Aquatics and their rock is butt ugly. I just purchased 40lbs of this rock and was very happy with every rock that I got. I cheated in that I picked it all out myself, but I looked around in the entire pool. I don't think I would have been dissapointed with any of the rock in that pool.
(11/24/2006) - I placed two orders at the same time for 40 pounds each "Fiji" from two vendors. The rock I received from Premium Aquatics was by far - better quality rock. The other vendor sent me rock that appeared to be cut and thus I could only position the rock facing one direction. The Premium Aquatic rock had various shapes, some color, and could be positioned in various positions which will be helpfull in the aquascape of my tank. I have had this cured rock for several weeks and it is still not ready to move to my tank...but it is progressing well.
I plan on ordering 40 pounds each of the Marshal Island and Show Tanga rock this week and hope that it is as nice or better than the Fiji rock.
More variation in size. shape and color would enhance the over all appearance.
(08/29/2006) - I just purchased this rock about a week ago and I am extremely happy with it. Premium Aquatics sent me the exact sizes and amount of pieces that I needed for my 20 gallon. The rock was very color and has a lot of life on it. It's only been a week and critters/coralline/etc. are popping up everywhere. Thanks again!!
(01/19/2006) - Did I get your attention? If you're shopping here right now, Buy the 40-50 lbs. you want!! You will not be disappointed. This rock is incredible for twice the price. This was my 1st order here, so I started off small. What a mistake!! Now I've gotta pay shipping again! Nice coraline, anemones, all sorts of macro algae, several nice small coral starts. I ordered the Fiji and Kaelini, cant decide which was better. My local stores don't even come close.
(11/22/2005) - WOW!! this is the BEST live rock I have ever seem, it is better than what I have in my tank already..ROB did a great job of selecting
(08/05/2005) - I have just received my Fifi live rock. I tried to prepare myself for disappointment and got the biggest surprise in my life! Rob did an INCREDIBLE job picking out pieces of Fiji and Kaelini Tonga. I was amazed at the quality (both types of this rock. I have been shopping and comparing live rock for two months and as far as I am concerned, Premium Aquatics cannot be beat! The colors and diversity in the shapes are amazing. I spent 5 hours arranging the rock and have the most awesome "scene" in my aquarium with several caves and a bridge. I can't wait to see what else is going to pop up. If you are looking for great quality, you will get it here!
(05/19/2005) - I got the live rock the next day after I ordered it. It came in whole pieces, individually wrapped. All the pieces were beautiful. They had nice color and the shapes were very interesting. They gave me a wide varity of sizes so the aquascaping would look natural. Great stuff, I would reccomend to anyone looking for nice affordable live rock.
(12/09/2004) - On the advice of a close friend and regular customer - I ordered live rock from here. This is very good quality rock and I will be ordering a second lot early next year. Premium Aquatics is a very trustworthy establishment - if you are uncertain about online ordering as I was then I strongly recommend that you to start your online experience in the safe hands here.
(06/01/2004) - I just received my order this morning and what can I say other than WOW!!! This stuff is extremely high quality rock with no die off! Beautiful colors and forms with each rock with tons of coraline covering almost all of the rock surface. I will definetly recommend this to anyone and will place more orders with Premium Aquatics!
(06/01/2004) - Beautiful piece with great colors!!!...I bought some other live rock from my local Petco store and that rock is nothing compared to the rock I bought of this site!!!....It has holes that makes it perfect for my clownfish to hide in...Definetly will buy more in the future!!!
(06/01/2004) - I purchased 60 pounds of Premiun Fiji cured rock to add to 45 of locally purchased Fiji and the difference is amazing! PA's rock blows away the other rock. The corraline coloring is great, from deep purple to green to golden yellow. Jeremy was awesome in helping me on the phone and setting my mind at ease with the purchase. Local prices are between $8.99-$14.99 and it looks dead compared to PA's live rock. Highly recommended.-2/7/04
(06/01/2004) - This rock was amazing. I phoned in my order and they adjusted the size of the rock to fit my Nano Tank! This rock is beautiful! Mine was totally covered in purple algae and was very clean. When my box arrived it was nicely packaged (although 2 heater pads might have been appropriate due to the temperature). Even after 1 month I enjoy looking at my rock and looking for new critters. I would HIGHLY recommend that your tank has a high calcium level in it in order to keep ots nice color! I will definately order my rock from Premium Aquatics again!
(06/01/2004) - probably some of the best figi ive seen in a while, and the price tag is unheard of. this rock has a ton of life on it, I got the rock yesterday and have already spotted a few tube worms, a couple of polyps and alot of small corals.
(06/01/2004) - Excellent fiji rock! It is a world of difference compared to the barren rock you will find at most Local Fish Stores. Coralline covered, with bits of macro algae (mostly grape caulerpa). They also took into account the size of the tank this was going into (small 18 gallon) and sent over pieces that will fit in great. I opted for next day shipping, which was pricey, but the quality of the rock made it well worth it. And at the fiji rock's price/lb, ends up being a better deal than getting it locally. Highly recommended
(06/01/2004) - Absolutely beautiful rock!!!!!!!!!! Jeremy is the best. The rock had NO smell and NO dying 'things' on it. It was a rainbow of colors from purple to lavender, orange, light green, to some pink and is full of life. What cool shapes too! I can't imagine any better rock and certainly can't imagine receiving any better service. I'm VERY pleased with my purchase of 40# of this rock! Thanks again Jeremy for everything!
(06/01/2004) - Compared to what I found in the many LFS around my area, this stuff was perfect! Tons of corraline coverage. Some small corals. Not a lot of "hangers on," but packed with lots of life none the less (feather dusters, copepods, plant life, corralline, etc.). Two or three different types of snails appeared after adding mine to the tank. Lots of migration of critters into the sand bed! Great shapes and lots of natural holes for aquascaping against PVC piping. I mixed half and half with Marshall Islands rock and my tank looks awesome!
(06/01/2004) - First of all, I was a bit skeptical about ordering live-rock over the internet, as I imagine anyone would be, but now I wonder why I ever went to a fish store to begin with. In MN (where I'm from) most Fiji goes for about $10.99/lb. and up (looks like bare rock), so when I saw this site at 3.99/lb. I thought it must be crap. The picture looked better than anything I had ever seen, so I decided at that price, I couldn't go wrong. I ordered 50 lbs. of Fiji and 20 lbs. of rubble rock and when it arrived today at noon, I about wet myself. This rock was better than anything I had ever seen in the fish stores around here, and less than half the price. I could probably go on for days about how good this rock has been so far, but I wont. If you would like to contact me, my email address is: babalsam@stthomas.edu. I would be more than happy to answer questions anyone would have from a consumer point of view. (quick summary of critters included in my rock: many feather dusters, 1 small anemone, 1 zoanthid, tons (TONS) of coraline alge, and one apstasia (bad, but tolerable) also I found a few little crabs at the bottom of the bag)
(06/01/2004) - This rock was really excellent. I ordered 150lbs to cycle a new tank and was not disappointed. The rock arrived fresh and order free (always a good sign)and loaded with purple and a fair amount of green corraline algae. The rock was so clean the anticipated ammonia spike never came. I added lots of maintaince animals 10 days later without a problem and have not looked back. Well worth the price, couldn't imagine cured-rock being any better. Jason was also very accomodating, you can't go wrong.
(06/01/2004) - Awesome! This rock is totally what I expected. Cured, ready to go, minimal ammonia/nitrite spike rock that's sweet smelling and full of coralline algae, zillions of copepods, and beautiful shapes... almost like Marshall Island rock for some pieces! I ordered 30 lbs for my 37 gal that I just setup and already it's crawling with copepods at night. Lots of worm action too after putting these rocks in. I wish I could keep setting up tanks!
(06/01/2004) - Received my order week of 5/21/01. Ammonia spike one day .1 The rock was pure and sweet. Arrived clean and ready to be placed directly in tank. No need to clean off dead spots. There were none. Less than five days latter have high degree of coralline growth as well as some tube worms and one sponge and one small clam. Would purchase without hesitation again from Premium Aquatics. Top notch outfit. On a scale of one to five a definite 7 plus.......
(06/01/2004) - Very good stuff! I ordered 25 pounds to try. I put it in an established 55gal tank w/30 lbs existing rock 3 days ago. The ammonia went only to about 0.35ppm, and is already down to about 0.1ppm. It didn't create enough ammonia to make my corals close. It probably would have been even lower if I had not had to wait from 9AM to 2PM to put the rock in my tank.
(06/01/2004) - very nice rock. I ordered 25lbs and it came very well packaged and very clean. Even the bottom of the shipping box had no foul smell. Beautiful coraline covers about half the rock. i'm very happy and i've ordered before from this store and the staff is A1.
(06/01/2004) - I have bought fiji cured from P.A. twice and each time there was no Ammonia spike at all in each tank!None. No Cycling. And they are covered with life ,even after 11months Im still getting new corals showing up!You will be very satisfied using there Fiji Cured Live Rock.
(06/01/2004) - Excellent rock - Jason does a great job selecting different sized pieces for your particular needs. Rocks are covered with coralline, some plant growth, tons of copepods/amphipods, even a bunch of mini tube worms and feather dusters. I had no die-off at all. The rocks are pretty open and offer a lot of bolt holes for fish and shelves for corals. Most importantly, NO MANTIS SHRIMP!! This is the stuff everyone should have in their tanks.
