(07/20/2009) - This pump is of very high quality. I believe is Italian made as well. If you remove the front cover, you will see it comes with NPT female pipe threads, meaning you can go to the hardware store, buy standard pvc fittings and plumb it externally. This makes it a great candidate for DIY calcium reactors, closed loops, etc. Hope this helps.
